Pilates matwork classes are suitable for people of all ages and all levels of fitness. There are three levels of class available; Beginner, Essential and Intermediate classes. If you are unsure of which class would be best for you please contact me.

 


Group Classes

COVID-19 UPDATE: For your health and safety in group classes please note that all clients must please read and agree to the Covid-19 Safety Procedures before attending any group classes.

Class sizes are kept small so I can work with everyone to ensure that they are performing the exercises correctly and I can offer modifications to exercises to address individual needs. Beginner classes are limited to a maximum of four clients. Essential and Intermediate classes are limited to a maximum of eight clients.

Group classes are weekly, an hour long (excluding Zoom classes) and are scheduled in term blocks. When booking a place, you will be booking for a full term. Unfortunately I do not run pay-as-you-go group classes.

Beginner Classes

These are available as a series of four, one-to-one, private lessons suitable for complete beginners and people who have not practiced Pilates for a while. The course teaches the basic principles, the language and terminology and will allow you to learn how your body works and introduce you to a basic Pilates workout. A postural analysis is included as part of the first lesson. After completing the series of lessons clients can either move into one of the group programmes (subject to availability and suitability), or continue with private tuition.

These classes are run on a one-to-one basis but can be expanded to accommodate small groups of up to four people.

Gentle Classes

These classes focus on the basic principles of Pilates, improving posture, flexibility and muscle and joint strength. They will also improve balance and coordination and are particularly suitable for clients who may have certain medical issues and those who desire a gentle, unhurried pace to their exercise.

Essential Classes

These classes are suitable for people who have achieved a good level of understanding of the principles of Pilates and are able to perform the exercises without significant restriction to the scope or pace of the class. Each week we will practice the principles whilst introducing new exercises to improve your flexibility, core strength and muscle tone. You will be encouraged to work at your own level and pace with modifications available to make routines more or less challenging.

Essential+ Classes

Based on your increasing Pilates experience and ability, these classes are focussed on clients who have the strength and stamina to perform exercises at a more challenging pace. New exercises will be introduced to continue to advance your flexibility, core strength and muscle tone.

Intermediate Classes

These classes are only suitable for those who have been practicing Pilates for some time and understand the controlled and precise nature of the method. This class works at a fast pace introducing exercises that challenge the client requiring more co-ordination, strength and stamina.

Zoom Classes

These live online group lessons are a great way for you to fit in some ‘self-care’ from the comfort of your own home. In the first instance these classes are for my existing clients who may be vulnerable or feel uncomfortable attending my group classes in person. They are also available to my other clients subject to availability. Zoom classes are 40 minutes in duration and require you to setup Zoom video conferencing on your phone, tablet or computer in advance of the class and use the camera on your device so that I can see you and instruct you accordingly.

Private Classes

I can offer private Pilates instruction on a one-to-one basis. The first class will include a postural analysis and a consultation to discuss what you want to achieve from your classes. I will work with you to tailor a programme designed specifically for you. Private sessions can be the better option for you if you have been advised to do Pilates by a health professional or if you are rehabilitating after injury, surgery or a health issue.

Individual sessions often allow for greater progression and development and can allow you to integrate with a group class sooner.

I can also offer small group classes for you to enjoy with friends or family on a two-to-one or three-to-one basis.

Group classes:
Essential and Intermediate
£51 per 6-week term
£59.50 per 7-week term

Equivalent to £8.50 per lesson
A deposit of 50% of the fee for the entire term is payable at the time of booking in order to confirm your place. The remaining fee must be paid before or at the first lesson.
Zoom classes:£36 per 6-week term
£42 per 7-week term

Equivalent to £6 per lesson
A deposit of 50% of the fee for the entire term is payable at the time of booking in order to confirm your place. The remaining fee must be paid before or at the first lesson.
Private classes:

£130 for 4 sessions (worth £170!)The first session is a single 90 minute class including postural analysis. The subsequent sessions are 1 hour duration. The fee for the entire course is payable at the time of booking.

Payment

Where possible please pay for classes via bank transfer, however cash or cheques are also accepted. I am currently unable to take payment by debit or credit card.
